Menopausal Syndrome

Is there anything worse than stress and anxiety in women? Yes, Menopause! Most of the women find it difficult to manage menopause. Unfortunately, governed by the hormonal disorders, menopause and menopausal syndrome often creates a chaos in women. From mood swings to bone loss to hot flushes, the fluctuation of the hormones affects even the daily routines.

While age related hormonal imbalance is the main cause, women can easily manage the menopausal syndrome the ayurvedic way.

Menopause – Transition from Pitta to Vata

Menopause is a natural transition in a woman’s life. By nature, it is the period of transition from Pitta to Vata Dosha. Being a transition, luckily this doesn’t come to stay!

According to Ayurveda menopausal discomforts happen due to three reasons.

  1. The transit phase from heat to dry, as stated above. Although it is natural, if a woman has significant Vata or significant Pitta imbalance, it affects her during the menopause or per menopause period.   The hormonal changes aggravate the existing Dosha imbalance, making it worse.
  2. Ama is another reason that leads to menopausal syndrome. Ama means accumulation of toxins. In some or other way everybody tends to accumulate toxins in the body. These digestive impurities cause blockages in the transport channels, which contribute more to menopausal syndrome.
  3. Emotional stress is the third major factor that takes a toll on women during menopausal phase. Again, this happens due to Vata and Pitta imbalance. The unhealthy stress hormones team up with the fluctuating reproductive hormones and take away the serenity of both body and mind, leaving behind a suffering soul!
